Successful rowers tend to be driven, team-oriented, intelligent, successful, and highly competitive people. Rowing changes lives by teaching cooperation, dedication, and commitment. Rowers learn to be strong of mind and body. Rowers learn to not to let their teammates down. Rowers learn to be athletes, together in synchrony. They learn how to lead, and how to follow, and when to step up and when to step behind, supporting the athletes in front and behind them. Rowers learn respect for their opponents, because like you, they are also using every ounce of determination and persistence to reach their goals, if not now, then soon. Rowers are realistic, because they learn what it means to
lose, but they also learn how to plan for the next race, the next chance to commit to themselves, their teammates, their families, their communities, and their sport.
