Thank You To Our Supporters

Dear Friends and Supporters of the Lake Sunapee Rowing Club,

As the end of the year has come and gone, we would like to let our supporters know about the results of our final two fundraising projects.

From the silent auction, which was a fun part of the “Gala” in November, we raised a total of $4,172. Of this amount, $1,558 was raised as a result of the generosity of many local merchants. The board has determined that this will be used to kick start our 2014 goal to raise $5,000 for new equipment for the adaptive program.

Last year the raffle of the new Concept2 rowing machine raised $1,125.00 for the club. The lucky winner was Louise Robie of Danbury, NH. Elizabeth Fielding sold the winning ticket. Thank you to all the members who bought and/or sold tickets. The goal was to raise $1000 for the club and we did it and then some!

This year, we will raffle off a very slightly used sea kayak donated by fellow club member Susan Weiss. It is a 15′ Wilderness System Cape Horn 140 sea kayak in a beautiful sea blue. Let’s see if we can raise $2,000 for the club this year by selling tickets to friends and family. I’m sure there are many people out there who would love to own this boat.

Soon we will have a meeting of the LSRC fundraising committee to plan events for the year 2014. As mentioned before we have a very real need for new equipment for the adaptive program and this will be our focus for the year. If anyone reading this has some ideas for fundraising projects, please let us know. We’re always interested in new ideas.

Wishing you a wonderful 2014,

Barbara Faughnan, Treasurer

Elizabeth Fielding, Chair, Fundraising Committee
