Winter Training Program 2014


The LSRC Board of Directors is happy to announce that we will be offering a Winter Training Program to provide an opportunity for rowers to refine their skills, develop strength and endurance, and connect with others in preparation for getting on the water in the spring.  We will be offering time on the indoor rowers at Hogan Center as well as biweekly outdoor hikes/snowshoes/x-country get-togethers.

January 7 – 30, Indoor Rowing for the Beginner, Tuesday and Thursday, 6:30 to 7:30 pm, Hogan Center.  Cost is $10 drop in fee ($5 for Hogan; $5 for LSRC).  Volunteer coaches will be Elizabeth Fielding (Tuesdays) and Brenda Balenger (Thursdays).  Focus will be on developing proper technique, learning what the numbers mean, and improving fitness. 

February 1 – April 31 – Winter Rowing Challenge, Tuesday and Thursday, 6:30 to 7:30 pm, Hogan Center. Volunteer coaches will be Elizabeth Fielding (Tuesdays) and Brenda Balenger (Thursdays). Will include baseline testing, individual workout plans, optional friendly group competitions, logbook rowing, and integrating supporting exercises/stretching with rowing.  Three month Hogan membership for $155 plus voluntary donation to LSRC.

January 12, 10 AM, Hike, Bog Mountain, Wilmot (snowshoes recommended)

January 25, 10 AM, Hike Lake Solitude
